The challenge was to incorporate program components such as conference center, museum, demonstration area for workshops, artists studios, gift shop and ancillary spaces as a sensitive infill project that heals its surroundings utilizing sustainable design principles.

Hudson Jeans is known for their tailored fit, high end denim worn by consumers with discerning taste and celebrities worldwide. The Los Angeles showroom in the historic Newmart Building utilizes everyday materials such as cardboard and metal studs in creating and defining the showroom space, similar in fashion to how Hudson’s products are manufactured.

Sanrio Store Retail Concept and Design Guideline Studies
Founded in 1960, Sanrio is an iconic Japanese brand best known in the U.S. for its character, Hello Kitty. A new and improved store concept was established and a detailed how-to manual to guide franchisees from store design to development was created collaboratively between the client, corporate office, and Narita Architects. Today new stores are built using this design guideline and manual.

A second generation restauranteur wished to transform a neighborhood Italian restaurant
to a grill that serves drinks and great food. A total transformation included a new bar, dining
room renovation, and new kitchen equipment. The warm ambiance and being at a great spot
near the pier in Hermosa Beach, the restaurant has garnered rave reviews and was recently voted best steak restaurant by the readers of Daily Breeze.
